Research Group Leader at the Leibniz-Zentrum für Archäologie (LEIZA) in Mainz, Germany. His work is on coastal prehistory and ecology with a focus on seasonal scale processes of humans and climate. His work stretches from Tasmania, to Tierra del Fuego covering holocene and pleistocene coastline, but in the context of FORAGER his experience with Danish and German Mesolithic sites is put to use in the study of the Western Baltic.
