Oliver Craig is a biomolecualr archaeologist with research interest in prehisotric diet and culinary practices.  He directs the BioArCh research centre and leads research into organic residue analysis and stable isotope analysis.  He has a long standing interest in hunter-gatherer foodways and has worked  on key bone and ceramic assemeblages from  European Mesolithic and Jomon sites . 

For FORAGER, Oliver will coordinate the research  into seasonality, food procurement and culinary practices (WP4) at all the regions under investigation. His team drives several of the project's key methodological innovations, including pioneering high-resolution mass spectrometry to detect plant metabolites in pottery and advancing single-compound isotope analysis of amino acids to better resolve dietary carbohydrate and protein sources.
