I am an osteologist working with both animal and human remains. As a PhD student in the FORAGER project I will be supervised by Adam Boethius and Peter Jordan. My part of the project will be to investigate demography and mobility in zooarchaeological material found at hunter-gatherer settlements. By using osteological, proteomic and strontium isotope analyses I will examine land-use, area-specific movement patterns, territorial limitations, networks regarding exchange and knowledge and how these changed over time and space. Sequential strontium isotope analysis using LA-MC-ICP-MS will be a cornerstone in my research which will be primarily focused on Scandinavian material from the Mesolithic period and will provide insight into how societies were structured and how their social networks developed over time.
